REVIEW: White Coast Milos

Located in Mytakas on the island of Milos, you'll find the ultra-luxurious White Coast Milos. Nestled hilltop, surrounded by azure waters and the view of Milos' signature lunar-white volcanic coastline, this chic hotel offers complete seclusion.

Indulge in a Beachfront heaven, where “Time Stops and Life Begins’’

After exploring the South of Milos, we headed North to spend the remainder of our trip indulging in the White Coast lifestyle. This zen-paradise is the perfect romantic getaway if you're looking for a more laidback approach to your stay on the island.

First Impressions & Setting

A winding paved driveway will lead you to the grounds of this hotel, adorned with succulents and light greenery. Upon arrival, you may notice their own dedicated Helipad (perfect for jet-setters that plan to arrive in style). The minimalist and clean-look architecture perfectly complements the surrounding rugged shoreline that leads to the ocean. The design plays on form, texture and light, to help radiate the beauty of the hotel's sleek building amongst the coast.

At first, you'll notice their fresh signature hotel scent that follows throughout your stay. The White Coast branding is apparent from their floor-to-ceiling glass doors, wooden chopping boards, chairs and more. I initially got the impression that this is not just a hotel name, but a brand in the making. A dedicated area near the reception also showcases a few items you can purchase with their signature White Coast branding.

Rooms

We stayed at in the 'Premium Deluxe Suite with Private Pool & Panoramic Sea View'. As you probably guessed from the name, the suite comes with a private pool, that boasts views overlooking the Aegean sea. Despite being just next door to other suites, you still feel a sense of complete and total seclusion. The furnishings follow a soft neutral palette of grey, beige and washed navy, making it easy on the eye. Rooms come with a heavily stocked mini-bar and also a price list of anything you wish to purchase in-room.

We were welcomed with a bottle of sweet yet delightfully refreshing bottle of wine, plus a bowl of fruit to appease our appetite before our 3-course dinner. Again, you'll notice how perfectly branded everything is, including their towels and thick ceramic mugs. A generous amount of Molten Brown toiletries are given, plus a hamper with other amenities should you need.

Facilities

This waterfront haven comes with a marble tiled pool that overlooks the sea. In fact, the entire hotel looks to face this same view, so you don't miss the incredible sunset. An indoor gym is also available, however there's also an outdoor pathway should you wish to feel a bit closer to nature. Branded cork yoga mats are also available in-room.

Food

Let's start with breakfast. You do not want to miss this - trust me. A selection of sweet and savoury Greek pastries are presented ever-so neatly on a tiered wooden board. The lovely staff will also allow you to choose a selection of cold-cut meats and cheese which they will bring to your table. The breakfast menu offers everything from delicious pancakes to healthy omelettes to help kick-start your day. If at the time I weren't so full from the night before, I probably would've ordered everything. Instead, I decided to go for the Açaí Granola bowl and had a taste of some of the most moreish pancakes I've ever tried. Unfortunately, we had to leave early one morning, which was out of breakfast hours. However, the team kindly put together a Breakfast picnic box to take away with a few of their pastries and a sandwich.

During our stay, we were also treated to a 3-course dinner at their restaurant 'Bianco', also held in the same dining area as breakfast. The vibe is somewhat of a laidback Mediterranean stye, with rustic elements. We came during sunset, where we were able to watch the sky turn pink as we sipped on our champagne for the evening. Food was of course, using all fresh ingredients with prime-cut meats and with a presentation executed perfectly right at your table.

Enjoy and indulge in fine dining, with high-end, fresh Mediterranean cuisine on the menu.

Overall

This adults-only hotel is predominately aimed at couples seeking somewhere to completely unwind and take in the beauty of the area. The staff were so warm and welcoming, with small kind gestures contributing to make our stay that 'extra bit-more special'. With knocks at the door offering some sweet treats, to offering a cocktail during the day - it really did feel like we were receiving an A-list treatment.
