REVIEW: The Oberoi - Marrakech

If you have been keeping up with my travels on social media, you may remember the moment I was left in awe during my visit to The Oberoi - Mauritius. Recently, during my trip to Marrakech in February, I had the pleasure of experiencing The Oberoi there as well. It was my first time in Morocco, and I instantly fell in love with the enchanting warm pink-coral buildings and the fascinating intricacies of their rich Moroccan history.

First Impressions & Setting

Nestled in an idyllic locale boasting awe-inspiring vistas of the Atlas Mountains, and positioned southeast of the bustling medina along the road to Ouarzazate, this extraordinary hotel awaits.

Our 5 star hotel in Marrakech has beautifully landscaped gardens punctuated by water features. Its authentic architecture is inspired by palaces of ancient Morocco.

Exhibiting the iconic pink hue of traditional Moroccan architecture, the hotel's exterior is a sight to behold. Yet, it is upon stepping through its doors that the true opulence and grandeur are revealed. The proportions are nothing short of majestic, and the decor is intricate and ornate, capturing the essence of Moroccan artistry.

A highlight of this remarkable establishment is its magnificent courtyard, which draws inspiration from the renowned 14th-century Medersa Ben Youssef of Marrakech. A captivating centrepiece, the courtyard is a testament to the hotel's commitment to creating an ambience of splendour and cultural authenticity, adding to the allure of this exceptional destination.

Rooms

During our stay, we had the privilege of indulging in the opulence of their 'Deluxe Villa with Private Pool'. Within, we were greeted by expansive interiors, including a regal master bedroom that exuded elegance. However, it was beyond the villa's walls where true bliss awaited.

Outdoors, a haven of seclusion beckoned, with plush deck chairs inviting us to relax and unwind amidst the serene surroundings. The heated private pool offered a respite from the world, inviting us to take a leisurely dip. The verdant hedges were adorned with vibrant flowers that perfectly matched the pool towels (a testament to the meticulous attention to detail).

Inside, the extravagance continued with a walk-in wardrobe that boasted ample space, adding a touch of sophistication to our stay. The dual-sink bathroom, replete with sumptuous amenities, exemplified the epitome of luxury. Every facet of our experience was curated to perfection, leaving us with cherished memories of a truly refined retreat.

Another exquisite personal touch that graced our arrival was a beautiful welcome arrangement, adorned with a bottle of fine wine, an assortment of fresh fruits, delectable Moroccan pastries, and a thoughtful welcome note.
